Dr. Sudip Bose is recognized as one of the
nation’s top emergency physicians.
Currently, he serves as
an independent
contracting emergency
physician. Prior to this
he was one of the
leaders of emergency
medicine at Advocate
Christ Medical Center,
the busiest trauma
center in Chicago and a
"Top 10" trauma center
in the United States by
volume with more than
80,000 annual patient
visits. Additionally, Dr. Bose serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at the
University of Illinois and in 2007 earned the National Faculty Teaching Award,
one of the highest honors in the country. As a spokesperson for the American
College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), Dr. Bose shares his expertise
with leading hospitals and universities across the United States and has
appeared on CNN and MSNBC and has been quoted in the Los Angeles Times,
Washington Post, US News and World Report, India Times, and other worldwide
media.
Motivated by duty and honor to his country, Dr. Bose joined
the United States Army while in medical school at Northwestern University in
1995 and began his medical career in 1999 as a resident at the Darnall Army
Medical Center in Fort Hood, Texas. While there, he created and championed an
emergency medicine board examination review curriculum which led the medical
center's residents to achieve the highest written board examination scores in
the nation. In 2005, Dr. Bose launched a national teaching curriculum and
founded
LLSA Prep, a top-ranked
medical education company where he currently serves as CEO. LLSA Prep is
a cutting-edge course
designed to improve
public health by
enriching physicians’
clinical knowledge about
the evolving trends and
changes in American
health care.
In 2004, Dr. Bose made one of his most impressive
contributions to the field of emergency medicine through a 15 month deployment
to Iraq, one of the longest combat deployments of any physician since World War
II. In Iraq, he served at the busiest trauma center in the world, the Ibn Sina
Hospital, and provided front line emergency care during the peak of insurgencies
in Baghdad, Fallujah and Najaf, often while under fire. Dr. Bose also treated
prisoners of war including former Iraqi President, Saddam Hussein. Despite the
lack of traditional medical resources available in Iraq, Dr. Bose quickly
developed innovative solutions to meet medical challenges all while inspiring
fellow soldiers to remain vigilant to their duty. For his outstanding service,
he received recognition from the President and was awarded the Bronze Star.
Inspired by the meritorious service of fellow soldiers, Dr.
Bose began raising awareness and funding for wounded veterans and the families
of fallen soldiers in 2005. Many of his military experiences will be chronicled
in an upcoming book titled "Soup From Stones: Untold Stories Under Fire." In
2008, the American College of Emergency Physicians named Dr. Bose one of the
"Heroes of Emergency Medicine" over the last 40 years for his service in
the Iraq War and the community.
As a board-certified emergency physician, Dr. Bose's
expertise covers a full range of medical specialties from cardiology to public
health. He is also quickly becoming one of the nation's leading voices on Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), an issue that deeply impacts many of the
soldiers returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan. Currently, Dr. Bose is a
member of several organizations including the American College of Emergency
Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine where he earned
Fellowship status.
Dr. Bose earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the
Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine as part of the
institution's prestigious Honors Program in Medical Education (HPME).
Dr. Bose wants all Americans to realize the American Dream
as he has. This is what drives him to fight to make health care more accessible
to everyone through education, dedication and service.
